Okay everyone. I think I might be on to something but need some confirmation. I have tried and tired all in vain to install FF (any version) onto my Gateway Win7 64bit machine. Was all excited cuz it worked on my 32bit laptop and I was having fun with the filters. Went home and installed it (taking into consideration all comments) on the above machine. It simply did not work. No way, no how. Stand alone; no. Plug-in; no. Wouldn't even start up and was not found in my running programs.

I was so frustrated you have no idea. Today I was heading back to work where I use my laptop. I have to sync my hard drive from home computer to my laptop. I use Smart Sync Pro which has worked FLAWLESSLY for years. I just used it earlier in the week and again, worked FLAWLESSLY. Well, I went to use it today and low and behold, it doesn't work. Won't even boot up, tried to uninstall and reinstall, same problem. Does the same thing as FF. Won't even respond!

I uninstalled both programs, cleaned my registry, etc.. I had to go to work so was unable to pursue this anymore. I will look at it again tomorrow but wanted to share this little discovery. Anyone else using SS PRO?

Kevin

I too am able to install but not run Filter Forge (1 or 2 beta). I am using HP Laptop with Windows7 64 bit OS.

I do use Spyware Doctor but disable it prior to installation and also disabled when trying to run FF. Would it be advisable to change my Spyware programme - if so to what : )

I run Avast as my anti-virus and have also tried disabling that with no effect.

I run as stand-alone - error message states bad parameters?

Any help please?

I haven't been in this thread for a while because I was thinking that it would be solved by the time 2.0 came out.

Well the newest 2.0 final Beta still does not work on my computer.

Back in November I had no Antivirus or Firewall on this computer and now I do. Even if I disable my antivirus FF will not load.

This just sucks!

opal1's solution is to run the download of FF... I have no option to run it. It only asks me to save smile:(

Ok, after reading that thread for 3 hours and trying all things I could found, I deinstalled FF 2.009 again. Not working on my W7 x64 machine. I tried all hacks I could found. No chance smile:| probably not such a good software. I never ever had those problems

The software is good no great...Its most likley some thing within the OS running in the background or a anti-virus......I had never had these type of issues with any of the machines that I had installed FF on....I always download it straight to the computer to store the exe and install it that way.....One often runs into problems installing through IE..bleech....
