Maybe it is a browser setting. If you use Firefox you can look under Tools>Options>Security>Passwords There is an option to reauthenticate each session. If you are using some other browser then I don't know how to change it but is should be something similar. Good luck  @ronviers |

Here's a summary on the situation with access problems.
We're experiencing an upsurge of traffic (seems to be fully legit, no attacks), and our current server setup isn't handling it well. So we're going to upgrade the server hardware and implement a software setup that allows efficient caching and quicker serving of static content. If everything goes as planned, we'll roll this out in two weeks. |

Well after talking to a programer friend about the login problem he suggested it was spyware on my pc causing my problem and to download Superant a free spyware programs. Sure enough ran the program and it found spyware - removed from pc and now login worked perfectly  . I run McAfee on my computor and am surprised it hadn't picked up the spyware  |

about 9:10 a.m central time, i was already logged into the forum and it just suddenly went dead while changing pages. i got a 404 error and couldnt get back in. i dont know how long it lasted, as i had to go to work. seems fine now.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Thanks for your reporting! That was the time we were installing a tool for speeding up our web-server Space... it seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you. |

OK. I think we'll continue tuning our server next few days, so there will probably be periodical server downs. Please, be patient, and keep informing us if these downs last too long. Thank you. 12:50 a.m (central daylight savings time) everything bogged down and finally got another 404 error. couldnt get in for 5 to 10 minutes. i'm thinking this is a normally scheduled maintenance time, but just letting you know.

Funny.....the server is actually now letting me on between 12:30 and 1:00 PM EST USA.....never allowed access at that time before.....

Steve, we now use an ultrafast web-server software optimized for serving static content such as pictures, so things should be much better now.

3:58 p.m central daylight savings time. tried to post a new thread and forum lagged out for four minutes and got a 404 error. after the four minutes, i got back in and forums were sluggish, but did respond. seems to be getting better now.

We've been monitoring this since your first post about it. We found out why this happens, and I hope it will be fixed soon (nothing serious, just a script that hogs a little too much server resources). |

For those who have noticed the server downtimes within last few hours: that were the database problems. Some of statistics tables've became too large. We had to clean them. Stay tuned.
