i've already sent in two bug reports on this one, but thought i'd post this in case someone had a quick fix (i really want to try out the new multi-blending as soon as possible), so, i'm posting it here also.
the first bug was reported from trying to download the new version. i simply went to 'download filters' and it gave me the normal message that i needed a new version and did i want to update now. i said yes and the download started and ran just fine. when the download was done, whatever comes next crashed FF back to the desktop and i got the error message on the desktop. so, i started FF again, hoping that maybe this was a non-critical error and that it might finish the process of installing the new version. i again went to download filters but since i already had the download from the previous attempt, FF just crashed back to desktop again and i got the same message again. like i say, i have already filled out the generated bug report forms. and, FF does still work; i just cant download any more filters or install the new version. my version still shows ver 1.004. one additional note here, that i dont know if it would affect things or not, is that i recently got an email from bella over another bug fix. i had to copy the 1.004 .8bf file over to my plugins folder. i also copied the config file over as well. that would be the ver 1.004 .8bf into my plugins that apparently had an older version in it and was causing a problem when i used FF as a plugin from paint shop pro. i doubt this is affecting the new download, but i mention it anyways just in case. so, any quick fixes here would be great! ok, i got 1.005 installed. apparently the automated thing going to 'download more filters' is what was doing it. when i picked 'updates' from the tools menu, i actually got the installed and it ran just fine. i now have version 1.005!! and i LOVE the new multi-blend!!!

Craig, you are right.
In order to update to version 1.005 correctly, please use Tools > Updates... command in the menu. Alternatively, you can download a new setup file. Other ways to update the program may lead to a crash. This has been fixed in the latest version, so the update to the following version will hopefully work OK. |

Hi Guys!
Same thing happened to me, but I only crashed once, then I went hunting for a solution and found it. Everything is A-OK now! After Thanksgiving I'm going to try making some more filters, haven't had time to blink! TTFN Donna |

I have/had FF version 1.009, I did the update,{fr om the link given in this forum} to version 1.021, and now it gives me the choice of buying again, or using the updated version for 30 days. WHY??? I was reading in this forum wh ere as long as the up is in that version, it is supposed to be free. If I would update to a NEWER version, say like the 2.0-3.0 beta...I would have to buy it. Can someone help me??
