I installed them on my laptop and they work just fine. But on my desktop the standalones do nothing and from withing Photoshop I get a "module" error.

Photoshop CS2
Win7 64bit

I saw the note about Comodo, but I don't have their antivirus, only the Firewall. I have AVG Antivirus.

Any thoughts?

Please reboot in Safe mode and try running a freepack. Will it start?

Thanks for your answer!

I upgraded to CS5 and still have a similar problem. The freepaks installed on my laptop and work fine. However, on my desktop they installed and they show up under filters, but whenever you click on one, the screen freezes. Both systems are Win7 64bit.

Does it happen in Safe mode?

Sorry for the delay. I am having problems getting into Safe Mode. I will reply with an answer when I get that figured out.

Ok, I had to use msconfig to get into safe mode. They work fine in safe mode. What does that mean then and what do I need to do for them to work in Normal start up?

This means a program or service that normally runs at startup prevents Filter Forge from running. I'm 99% sure it is virus or an antivirus or a debugger. Please review this thread; if you don't have any software that is listed there, please disable your antivirus, antimalware or whatever is running at startup on your computer.

I have Comodo Firewall, but not antivirus. It does not have the settings listed in that post. I use AVG Antivirus. I will try turning them off and see what happens. However, it leaves me wondering, if that is the case, what to do. I cannot do without my security, nor am I going to purchase new products.

You can add Filter Forge to the exception list, if your software has one.
