I just purchased FF 1.0 Professional and am running it standalone on 64bit Win 7 on a machine with 6gb ram. I'm trying to use the Metalizer filter by Kochubey. This filter defaults to 600 pixels and has the orange and white life preserver as the subject matter. When I do "File > New Image" and then set the resolution higher (e.g. 1000 or 2000) it renders a flat color background with no image (and there is nothing metalic about it). Once this bug is hit, clicking on the other presets yield basically the same flat output background with no contained image. The only difference is that the color changes. Even if I switch to another filter that aslo has the orange and white life preserver as the subject matter, the life preserver is missing (somehow removed from the image). Rebooting FF does not help. Rebooting my PC does not help. Im not running any other apps at the time.

Hello gtburgin....Once you do new image it gives you a background of color not an image....Filters that you see with the life preserver need some type of image or pict to render with it....Only the filters without this life preserver can you do the new image and size the pixels......You would need to take an image and size it to 1000x2000 first before running it through that certain filter....

Thanks! sorry for the noob question. Are there other images besides the life preserver that also indicate an image is required? Or is the life preserver exclusively used?

There is only the life preserver....FF licensed that particular image from the photographer....There is a history of that somewhere in the fourms....I'm just to lazy at the moment to look for it.. smile;) smile:)

however, you can load your own image and use that. just use 'open image' instead of 'new image' and browse to where your pic is and click on it and hit ok. but, that wont remain once you close the program. when you start again it will be either that life preserver or, if you loaded a new image then that will come up.

you can also change the default life preserver, but that's another matter.
