please help

i have FF installed and registered, has been since July, and ive even downloaded several filters since then.
Recently, past week, when i download filters, a pop up shows and says Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (filterforge) isn't associated with any program.
however, im in photoshop and the filter forge link is in my filter drop down menu
i try on internet explorer and a page comes up saying "Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed."
which is odd because i can go to FF folders in adobe and everything is there.
I updated last night and still no progress
