I can't find the Plugin under the filters menu in PS so I'm assuming its not installed correctly.

Does anyone know what directory they need to be installed in?

They are installed in the
Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Photoshop CS4>Plug-ins>Filters>Filter Forge>
directory now - are they supposed to be somewhere else?

I'm a bit stumped here.

----The FF 8bf. file needs to be in the same place as any plug-in for PS. smile:)

And that would be?

As far as i can tell its in the right place.

I need specifics

I've even set the filter forge plugins directory to be the optional pligins directory.

I've had the .8bf file in the plugins directory since the beginning of this too.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop\Plug-Ins\Filter Forge Plugin - And I just copied the 8bf. file over then opened Photoshop and bickety-bam, bob was my uncle. smile:) If that doesn't work for you, can you force PS to scan for new plug-ins somehow maybe ? I have an audio program that you havta do that with anytime you want to use a new plug-in.

Unfortunately Filter Forge doesn't work as a plugin under 64-bit host apps smile:(
You can use it as a stand-alone application.

Can you make sure that is listed on the product information so other people don't fall into the same trap.

Would have saved me hours of grief and frustration and feeling ripped off.

Thanks

We'll add a note about 64-bit systems and hosts to the System Requirements and Host Applications pages.

Any plans to make a 64 bit version of the Plugin?

I purchased the product an was unaware that the plugin would not work in Vista 64 until I found this thread ...

Yes, we'll look into this during the development of v2.0. At least under Windows, I foresee no problems.

Mac is harder -- we can do a 64-bit plugin but we won't be able to do a 64-bit application due to the fact that FF is written in Carbon and there are no plans by Apple to release a 64-bit version of Carbon. We can, however, weasel out of this situation by leaving the main FF app 32-bit but providing a sister 64-bit GUI-less process that will serve as a 'memory scratch drive' for FF and will be able to address all available memory.

At the moment very few third party Filters are 64-bit capable. When lookig to purchase any plug-in assume they will only work under 32-bit version of Photoshop. Those suppliers that have 64-bit filters are shouting off the roof tops! I know it is a pain but Phostoshop CS4 32-bit works well under Vista 64-bit and is installed at the same time so you can easily switch between each enviroment. Our Apple friends do not have any choices they only have the 32-bit version!
