So I installed the update and I started to get erros all over the place if I tried to use FF with PS. Well now I don't need to worry about that because PS won't let me even use FF any more. Didn't move a single file, but now if I go to the filters in PS the words "Filter Forge" are light grey and can not be accessed.
What should I do?

This doesn't look like a detailed bug report
Please report your OS version, your Photoshop version and the exact error message.

I generated a bug report for this and actually sent it into FF about a week ago. I will try the reinstall thing I guess.
*Edit* Reinstalled and it is working great! Yeah!!!
Plus I must have had an old old version because I am getting features I never had before, such as if FF is already runnning and I run again through PS it gives me an option to switch. Cool!

Recap,
I have had the same problem since the update. If I uninstall/reinstall do I need to save my filter library first? I don't want to lose all the downloaded filters and will be without internet for a few days on vacation. Thanks.

I used the uninstall with FF and it saved my library.

I had the same problem with Paint Shop pro X2: the filter was not able to start.
Reinstall helped. Note that if you use the Plugin folder in My Documents/My PSP files, then you have to copy the FForge plugins there manually.

I installed the most recent update of FF when FF informed me it was available. Now, when I try to access FF from within Photoshop Elements 7, FF doesn't start, and PSE7 crashes.
FF will start and run stand-alone. When I start it and try to access it from the Filters menu in PSE7, I get a message that tells me that FF cannot be started because it is already running, and then PSE7 crashes. FF continues to run in this scenario.
I am running Vista Home Premium. I've sent in bug reports, and have sent in the information that the tech folks ask for, been informed that the tech folks have been able to replicate the crash; but no workable solution as of yet.
Uninstalling/reinstalling FF has no effect.
Are others having this problem with PSE7? I'd really like to be able to use it again and would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.
If this is not the best place to post this question, please just let me know. I am new to the forum. Thank you.

Pickneyb: at the moment we're rolling out the new version which should fix the problem. If the problem persists – please report.

Thanks, GMM. I'll stop trying to solve it myself and wait for the new version. Any idea of when it might be available? And, until then, is there any way to go back to the old version?
