In my rss reader (Thunderbird) the 'open in filterforge' button links to the 'notinstalled' html file.

As a check I opened the rss in IE7 and (after enabling cookies) it works just fine.

So is the problem that Thunderbird rss doesn't support cookies? So won't other rss readers have the same problem?
I don't know if this is hard to fix or not and it's not so big a problem of course but it would be nice to be able to open filters directly from rss.

IE and non-IE browsers do not share cookies. Each browser has its own cookie storage.

So click from your non-IE browser 'If you do have Filter Forge installed but still see this page...' link on notinstalled.html page. This should help.

PS
By the way, there is no button "open in filter forge" in rss smile;-)

Ok... but I use Firefox and Thunderbird (I just tried IE for it's build in rss reader). Thunderbird opens the link but then presumably Firefox and Thunderbird don't share cookies either (?).

1) As I see, Thunderbird shows not RSS items, but the pages corresponding to them on this site. It is non-standard RSS-reader behaviour.

2) You may check yourself, whether they share cookies:

a) login on this site with "Remember me" checkbox checked. Your Display Name will appear in the top-right side of the pages.

b) open any Filter Forge RSS-item in Thunderbird. If your Display Name is still shown in the top-right side of that page, it means that they share cookies, otherwise they don't.

You may use FireFox 2.0 or higher to read RSS feeds - it works in proper way.
