This is really minor, but it's officially annoying now. About 2 hours or so after i installed that last FF update, it crashed and erased a filter (down to 0kb). Every single time since, every time, all the times, each time, that I open FF since then, it beeps at me and gives an error message that it can't load that filter. That's gotta get fixed, some temp file that didn't get emptied properly or something. Where do I find it and manually remove it for now til you can fix it in the next Pc build ?

Thanks Krae, but it's not there. I'm thinking maybe some kind of registry thing or something, quite possibly error has nothing to do with the file at this point. After it beeps at me and gives me the error, it then opens to the last filter I used, like it normally would if there was no error glitch going on.

oh, the error isnt telling you the name of a filter? if it's giving you a filter name, it shld be where i said...unless... maybe you corrupted a library file? in which case it would be in wherever you installed FF down in the resources > system > cache or library folders, i would think.

I get this a lot also. FF crashes. Kills the filter I was working on - it goes to 0kb and can't be loaded. smile:cry: (I can locate the ffxml file using the locate file on one of my similarly named surviving filters, though.)

Seriously, this seems to happen at least once every few hours of FF use. I've become compulsive about saving backups. If anyone could tell me why it's doing this, it would be much appreciated! (some memory thing, maybe?)

Occasionally, it crashes so bad that it 'forgets' the filter structure. That is, all my downloaded filters disappear from the filter browser. (!) If I download a filter from the FF website, it's able to right itself. However, if there is no internet connection, then there are NO downloaded filters. (my filters are preseved.) It also deletes all of my 'favorites' when this happens. smile:?:

Huh, apparently it saved a version of it with a (1) at the end (after the filter name) and that one was 0kb also, and thusly it was causing the error despite my having deleted the original filter that got corrupted down to 0kb. Kind of weird and a hassle, I could found it, erased it, and stopped the beeping a long time ago, it just never occured to me there was 2 of the same filter, ugh etc. I'm still not at all sure why it always tried to open that dead filter each time I opened FF though, since it always opens to the last filter you were working on. That is still a glitch/bug of some kind. But hey, the beeping is gone, and who cares for now I guess eh. smile:D
