It shows 60% when the anti-aliasing is less than 20% done.

This is because we cannot predict how much of the surface is going to be antialiased before we complete the first rendering pass, so both passes take 50% of the progress bar, hence the 60% when AA is at 20%.

That's not the most intuitive way to present the info. I think a separate anti-aliasing bar would be clearer.

Uber, the 50/50 progress bar proportion between the rendering pass and the AA pass was my idea. Due to our smart AA algorithm we can't predict the amount of pixels to be antialiased, so we settled on this 'solution'.

As for the separate progress bars (and, to anticipate further suggestions, resetting the bar to zero for the AA pass), I'm strongly against introducing additional complexity into the UI to deal with minor things like these. I can safely say that neither of these two will be implemented.
