Hi
Aspect ratio of pictures seems to be ignored with some library filters. Is this a general limitation of filter forge or is it just not well designed filters? If the first is true: what are the chances of getting this fixed soon? And if the latter is true: which element in the filter editor is responsible for aspect ratio consideration so that I can correct it myself?
Sorry, if this has been asked before.
Thanks, drjee

----In a way it is both, it's a trade off. Some filters simply cannot be made any other way, in the case of 'grass', it is because it uses Profile Gradients, and those *repeat*, they don't 'shrink'. Effect filters don't usually suffer the aspect ratio proble, but I bet you'll find around 1/3 or so of the texture ones do, especially the better/more complex ones, because they had to use ProfGrads and or Frames (or some no-repeating element) to make them look exactly as they do.

FF is aware of the ProfGrad complaints in general, they don't even work for Fx with non-squared images (well, they repeat after the smaller of heighth or width is reached), which is pretty sad really, so once they fix that, maybe they can address a solution for scaling with filters using ProfGrads.

Some filters have to do with the seamless tiling thus making them look weird at non-square sizes..Due to the components that are specific for the seamless tiling..
However unchecking the seamless tiling in the settings of the filters will make some filters look correct they might not be seamless anymore thou...One component that does not look correct most of the time with non-square sizes is the profileGrad..Not a problem but linked with the seamless ability of FF...Using the filter that Redcap posted the link for does correct this in some fashion..Well at least a good workaround for it...
It still takes some creative placement in your filter to make it look like it should and to make it seamless... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!
