i tried last night and again today to submit a new filter. i get all the way to the 'submit' part of the submit wizard and get an error message that says: Submission Failed. Connection Error. Reason: 'submit_filter()failed.' Please try again later.
this seems a bit odd to me. i seem to be able to login in the submit wizard so i would think 'connection failed' might not be correct. but, then again, maybe i've goofed something up with my new install and update and entering the registration key info or something. the registration key seemed to take just fine and i no longer am getting the '30 days left' message. so, that seems ok. is the filter library under repair or something? craig If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

No, I don't think so -- the installation is pretty straightforward. Looks like a bug. I've assigned this to the programmers, they'll look into it. |

hi vlad. the only thing i can think of that i did differently on this install is that i installed from a copy of the first beta version i had stored on my harddrive and then installed the new version, but i did all of this and then added my old filters back from 'my filters'. perhaps i shld have added back the old 'my filters' before doing the 1.03 update. also, i didnt move the whole folder of 'my filters'; i made a new filter in the new FF, a very small one that i knew would create the 'my filters' newly and then copied back the other filters from the old 'my filters'. that's the only thing i can think that i did that might have screwed this up somehow. maybe the old filters copied into the new 'my filters' have a slightly different signature or something. dont really know; just kinda guessing and trying to supply you with any pertinent data.
i'll try it again and check my firewall to make sure it's not blocking things, since that's new also. craig If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

have tried again several times. also checked my firewall and it seems ok. i can download filters fine. so, that means my auth code and login are correct and also that i am connected to the library, at least on the downlink side.
i also tried re-creating this filter as a new filter and got the same error when submitting. i can find no little oddities in the connections of the components. no little red things on any of the nodes or anything like that, at least nothing obvious to me. i did have to trim the presets down to 20 to begin with, but that seems fine now. oh, and on this new machine, my system drive (where windows is installed) is not c: . it's k: . the guy who set it up kinda goofed there. that really shldnt make a difference, though. but i'm just throwing everything in here i can think of that might help debug this. also, i dont know if something got left behind in the registry when i uninstalled it that first time or not. if there's something there you need me to check, let me know. craig If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

hi bella,
sure. i'll attach it here. i also tried another test. i made a very simple filter and tried to upload it. it uploaded fine. so, i then tried submitting this one again and still get the same error message. so, it's something specific to this filter. oh, and please feel free to delete 'Upload Test 1' from the libary. that was the name of the filter i submitted as a test. it's just 4 simple conponents and a few controls. nothing worth saving. i also tried renaming this filter to something else just in case you had reserved the word 'Forge' from filter file names. didnt help. craig Frame Forge 3.ffxml If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

thanks photoman
![]() no, those always do that. i suspect it has something to do with using 2 frame components or some tiny little boo boo like you mentioned that i havent seen yet. craig edit: took out some stuff... was thinking of a different filter. Craig,
Could it be you are using an image component in one frame and setting the Alpha in the other? The filter may be getting rejected because the software can not determine if the filter is a texture filter or an effect filter. Just a thought. Hope you solve it. |
