Hi FF team, I'm not sure if It has some bug, but when trying to update my 'Bubble Wrap' (#505), the submit wizard asked if It was brand-new or update. As It's an update, I selected update/next, but the list in the 'Chose the original filter to update' wasn't showing my 'Bubble Wrap'. So, I didn't get to pick It. I selected <back and sent as brand-new. Please, update it for me and give some directions if I'm doing something wrong.

Greets Lucato,
Your 'Bubble Wrap' which is currently in the Filter Library is a texture filter. The submitted version is an effect (it has an Input Image and/or Selection component in it). It's currently not possible to update a texture with an effect and vice versa. I think it's ok for now to submit the same filter twice: as an effect and as a texture. We will definitely discuss this situation once again. |

Hi Top, nice to meet you and thanks for your feedback.
Top, just a comment/suggestion. Once the system identified that It wasn't a texture and It was an effect, it shouldn't ask for me if It was a new-brand or an update because there wasn't an EFFECT called 'Bubble Wrap' and only there was the TEXTURE called this way. I mean, unless the system nowadays recognizes the same name, but doesn't make difference what is a texture or what is an effect. Maybe the system should identify It before ask or treat all as FILTER so I would update and previous texture that became an effect and vice-versa. So, let me ask you. To get to update my first 'Bubble Wrap' that was with a 'cone normal map', I need to submit the texture with NO image component and NO swicth components? Is that right? Thanks in advance. |

lucato,
it asks you regardless because you can change the names of filters and overwrite old submissions with the new one with the name change. craig If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Filter is a texture if it has no External components (Image and _Selection_) so if you try to submit 'Bubble Wrap' without Image and Selection components Submit Wizard should offer to you an update option by default.

Yup Top, I've sent again the texture. Thanks. Duh, I tought that the selection component you've mentioned in your 'st reply was the Switch Component. My fault! Just reading your 2nd reply I got that it was the _Selection_ in the External section. I took out all the Switches. Heheheh
![]() ![]() Yup Craig, I got to rename and "save"/submit over the previous version. Thanks guys. A hug. |
