I first saw this behavior in FF 9.007, and it exists in 10.004.

If I choose a filter in the Filter Browser window, and that filter contains at least one component group, attempting to open that filter in the filter editor causes FF to crash.

Also, when already in the filter editor, first attempts to create a component group have almost always caused a crash... but I've attached a filter in which I was able to create two groups without causing a crash. I've focused the viewport onto the sets of apparently relevant components.

I have an intuitive feeling that the crash has something to do with component groups plugging into recent-version Blend/Threshold components, but that's just blind speculation. I really have no clue.

Thanks for your report - unfortunately we're unable to reproduce it. Does your issue persist in the latest 10.005?
Maybe someone else can reproduce it too.

Long shot: can you install FF10 (or FF9) in the standard location and see if this fixes your issues? It may have nothing to do with it. I have tried a whole bunch of things with Rough Leather, can not reproduce the error. The only thing I noticed unusual in your report is the install location of the app.

Standard location: C:\Program Files\Filter Forge 10 (or 9)
Math meets art meets psychedelia.

Since the error message mentions image dimensions, have you tried a different source image?

I've had a default FF image loaded when I open these filters, and the crashes happen. I just created in blank image in FF with a resolution of 452x476, and the crash occurred. I had about 5 seconds to see the preview image in a group thumbnail, and the main render screen began to build maybe a quarter of the first render pass, and then FF crashed, generating this error:

I tried to reproduce the error as well and came up with everything working with no crashes...Might be one of those bugs that is only a burp
on your end or one that needs to be a certain exact circumstance and settings to reproduce....
I tried other methods aside from your filter as well......

Last long shot: put the program in single core mode (I know slow) close it restart it. If this works it could be an incompatiblity with the AMD processor. Did I say long shot...
