Hi
I bought the Filter forge V 9 few days ago and i have to tell that am very suprised by the number of the effects we can use and to possibilities we can have with this. the only problem i have i think that FF is not optimised because all the time when i use it hte Processor usage is 100% and it take long time when it try to test differents effects at the end is un supportable . for the moment is the only negative important point i found i have to precise that my laptop is new laptop with a good graphic card SSD and 16Gb ram Thanks for reading my post |

Well, FF is already optimised to get the most of all the CPU cores and use all the power you may have, so it is a normal and usual thing that it would take all the available CPU usage if it needs it. Another thing is from where are you seeing the 100% usage ? Can you please be so kind to put a screenshot showing how your computer is working while using FF? For this please see this and on 1:12 it shows the logical processors you may have in your computer and how they are used Check How Many CPU Cores Your Game or App is Using on Windows 10 and here is a guide about task manager Windows Task Manager: The Complete Guide by CHRIS HOFFMAN
Well, if you are having problems because of this then is another thing Is one process eating up nearly all your CPU’s resources? Here’s how to fix high CPU usage.1 2 This is another thing, if any other app or thing takes longer, then you have to see who is really taking the most of the usage and see on the Processes tab, what software you have installed and which one is the highest using the CPU and RAM If it is really FF, then may be right and you can configure how much RAM FF uses in the options If it is not really FF then you may have a problem with another software that makes as a hog of the system So if you can also show the processes tab so see that really is FF taking the most of the usage and not other one PROCESS EXPLORER FROM MICROSOFT IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE TASK MANAGER
Download the Process Explorer here in the official website (not from other places) Microsoft Process Explorer |

I some took the screen capture , the moment i was selecting an effect to see the overview you can see on the FF screen capture that the icons make time to appears. i can't upload more than one picture than i upload them in different reply thanks |

Thanks for the screenshots, it looks that all is right and is FF is taking the most of the CPU
From seeing the third screenshot, I wonder if you mean that FF is very slow to render the preview or the result? Do you think that FF is slow because it has high usage?
what is the resolution of the image you are using? I think that is a right amount of time to wait because FF does not have any GPU acceleration and is not optimised for using the GPU as it happens with Affinity Photo that makes all fast |

everybody that uses FF have this problem, and it depend on the filter used and resolution output, you will see that some filter make take up to an hour or more to have the result Please see my answer in this other thread to understand the speed of FF
Welcome to Filter Forge that is not yet optimised for GPU acceleration as most others software available. But it will depend totally on what filters you are using and the resolution output and is not the same for all the filters
Well, FF is not slow because it has high usage, is because as said it does not have any GPU acceleration and is not using any graphics API to speed up.
This explains why you are seeing it slow, because this is considered a high resolution, and if you are seeing the result for this resolution in just only 5 or 10 minutes then it is really great. |

I have been waiting for this for 10 years, and it would be like heaven on earth, and like going to the biggest paradise if FF could be much faster and be able to use the GPU for preview Regrettably, according to Vladimir Golovin, the owner of FF company, this is not possible or feasible soon Please See my detailed and full answer on your other thread in this link I think that FF is like having the looks and chassis of a Lamborghini car but the motor has not changed with the years and is the same as one of a very old car, or maybe a better comparison is like having this car and drive it in a crowded city with a 50 km/hour speed limit |
