It looks like there is a problem with the sample cache in the loop component (in Accumulated slave node).
Take a look at the attached example. I added my own "sample cache" script - notice the difference in rendering time. I'm not really sure what is going on, but it looks like there could be a lot of performance to gain... Native Julia Set.ffxml |

This is a complex question. I had one of our devs look at it, and here is what I am told:
Beyond pure (x, y) coordinates, our sample cache architecture takes into account all the metadata that comes with the sample, for example the current iteration. We can't simply take the sampling result from the cache for another loop iteration. On the other hand, your cache script only considers pixel coordinates - it is just a coincidence that our native sample cache and your script produce the same results. |

I see - that makes sense. What doesn't make sense to me is why it works with my cache script at all
![]() Anyways - the main problem with these types of loops is that you can't stop the loop. I really hope we get that feature at some point (described here: https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?TID=13828) |

Sphinx, I'm still trying to reach the only developer who is able to answer this question. I'll post when I have something to answer.

I managed to show your case to the developer. His reply was: "That's weird. I need to think about it".
Sorry, I guess this is not what you expected to hear but at least we know this is not by design. I'll keep you informed ![]() |
