Hi folks, I've installed FF7 and I'm trying to open some filters from the browser, but it doesn't open the file into FF7, nor open FF7. I have tried different browsers such as Google Chrome, Vivaldi, Firefox, and all them send to the page to download ff7 (already installed) or ask to "click here" to activate the cookie, but but by clicking on it and going back to download the filter page, by clicking on the button to download (Open this filter in filter forge), nothing happens.
Any idea how to solve it in the browsers? Thanks. |

Your browser fails to handle the filterforge:// protocol correctly. To fix the handler, please open Run (press Win+R) and type the following command:
"%PROGRAMFILES%\Filter Forge 7\Bin\Filter Forge.exe" /a Alternatively, you can reinstall Filter Forge. |

Hi GMM, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately your tips didn't work. I have tried the following things and didn't work:
- Your command by pressing Win+R; - Cleaned browser cache/history; - Uninstalled and installed again FF7; - Tried to open/download filters from other browsers such as Opera, Vivald, Chrome, etc; For example the Opera gave me the error message like that "Unknown protocol, the Opera can't open the application because none application associated with the protocol "filterforge" was found in your system. Any idea what can be wrong and how to solve, once the tries above didn't work? Thanks once again. |

I have the same issue. Chrome and Firefox don't recognize the command to open the filter in FF. I will get the "activate cookies" page, but even though I click on that, and have both browsers accepting all cookies, I get the error message about not knowing how to handle the command.
In order to d/l filters, I have to use the built-in browser. I would like to buy, but I won't until this issue is fixed. I need to go into Firefox and Chrome's command page and tell it what to do, but I don't know how. |

Since I have post the post above I didn't get to solve the issue, so my message remains:

Thanks CFandM, the only way I got was from one post from GMM in the link you provided. The text you mentioned into the Local State file was missing in my file, so the only solution was to use the obsolete library, that shouldn't be obsolete. :0) I hope the next update get to solve it, not sure if it is an update from FF or GC that will solve.
"By GMM: I can suggest you switch to the built-in library viewer: select Tools > Options > Online > Use the built-in library browser (obsolete). After this, the 'Download more filters' link will be replaced by a button that opens the built-in viewer, so you won't need a browser to download filters." Thanks folks. |

Lucato, sorry for being not helpful but this issue is meant to be fixed by reinstalling. Our installation package registers the filterforge:// protocol during installation, and if this doesn't happen for you something is really wrong with your system.
Please try CFandM's suggestion for Chrome, and here is another instruction for Firefox: 1. In Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Applications tab. Find 'filterforge' in the Content Type list. 2. In the Action column for filterforge, click the drop-down menu and select Use Other > Browse > C:\Program Files\Filter Forge 7\Bin, double-click the Filter Forge.exe file inside the Bin folder, then, when returned to the Firefox window, click OK. |
