Filter Forge x64 has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Debug and close program are two buttons.

Windows 10 ver 1607, Filter Forge 6.0

Was doing it when trying to download filters. Now I open it and it crashes.

I'm afraid this is not enough to reproduce the issue. Downloading filters works correctly for us. If you notice a specific pattern that leads to crashes, let us know.

I have discovered the pattern...

Uninstall Filter Forge... reinstall, opens fine.

Change options to use the built-in library and auto update.

Those two items cause it to crash on open.

I have opened and closed it twice today without issue.

Except now I haven't touched the default settings and it is still crashing.

I hate having to uninstall/reinstall just to use it.

What is needed from me to get this resolved??

Your messages show the issue is intermittent. I'm sorry to hear your about poor FF experience but we can only troubleshoot something that is reproducible. Again, if you notice a specific pattern that leads to crashes, please let us know.

I see the sticky post with anti-malware/etc that interferes with it. Has this been updated? I'm running Windows 10, Windows Defender and Malware bytes.

In order to use the program, I have to uninstall it once I get the crashing. Reinstall it, reload all the filters from FF library and not download anything new, or change any of the options.

I have saved the .wer files, the crash reports.... will any of that be useful to you?

It is a pretty popular program, and I haven't heard any compatibility issues with it.

How do you do reinstalling if you need to reload filters? If you just click 'Uninstall' from the Control Panel applet, all downloaded filters will be preserved.

I haven't been able to download any filters from the webpage for over a week now. That is what started the crashing.
