Hello,
Filter Forge freezes about 10 time more often than Version 4.
I have to use the Task Manager > Processes and then End the Task.
Photoshop also freezes so I do the same.
As a Standalone FF crashes and shots down.
As I was writing got this message “Filer Forge x86 has Stopped workingâ€
Some of the Factory Presets on the bottom are blank but slowly fill in with an image.
Sometimes I need to click on the black square to get it to start the image to appear.
The FF Librarian does not remember the filters that already downloaded.
Filter Forge 5.007
Filter Forge Librarian 5.006. I had downloaded a few filters prior to getting the $69 Librarian.
Photoshop CC 2015 64 bit
Windows 10 64 bit Desktop PC
Please help.

I opened Photoshop CC 2015 and checked the "about" on FF 5.
Build Filter Forge x86 5.007.38260.17378.
Is the x86 correct?
I run Photoshop 64 bit.
Keep in mind I have similar issues with FF5
as a stand alone and as a Photoshop Plugin.

Sorry but saying "Filter Forge freezes" doesn't tell us anything specific. What particular filter at what resolution are you trying to render?
Also, please restart in Safe mode and check if the issue persists in Safe mode.

Freezing and crashing happened with Windows 7 PS Photoshop CS5 and CS6 and FF4 and
now with a fresh Windows 10 Photoshop CC 2015 install and FF5. All 64 bit.
It happens more often with large images. Typically 11"x14" at 600ppi. Never use anything larger.
I do not make a note of the filter name before the freezing. I open the Task Manager and sometimes I need to end the PS and sometimes the FF process.
The last report I made and got a response fr om FF email: "This error was caused by the host application (Photoshop), not by Filter Forge: we cannot do anything about that. Most probably Photoshop crashed or froze while Filter Forge was running. Please restart Photoshop and Filter Forge, and everything should be alright." This is always the message I get when I report to FF. Well I try it gain with similar results.
Is it PS or is it a mistake I have made in Preferences or elsewh ere in PS or even in FF. Could it be that my images are too large?
Yes I will try you suggestion to go with Safe Mode.

This is always the message the host application (Photoshop) sends to the plugin. If you use Filter Forge in the standalone mode you will get a more meaningful error message and hopefully a more useful reply from the support.

I have the same problem with FF in PS CS6. It does not work as a plug in nor does it work as a stand alone program. I have sent 5 messages to the Bug Report people and several directly to the technical people... not a single acknowledgment of any of these messages! Ed
