Hello,

I am in the process of rendering an image now 12 hours later and the progress window is not visible. The round progress meter runs very slowly. The Task Manger shows the CPU runs between 85 and 90%. Memory varying between 19 and 21%

Does this mean that I should abandon this rendering? This is the second time this has happened this week. Last time I ended the process in the Task Manager.

I have the latest FF 5 and Windows 10 64 bit updates. This particular filter has been used many times before with out issues.

Was there a recent bad Windows update?

Please help.

I'm afraid this information is not enough for us to troubleshoot your issue.

What filter are you rendering?
What image size are you rendering?
Are you running it as a plugin, as a GUI standalone or from the command line?

I ran this filter on the same image but at 4200 x 3225 PX
and it rendered in less than 2 hours.

But still my question is if the Progress Window fails to appear in a few minutes will the rendering fail to happen?

This time I timed the rendering of the 4200 x 3225 PX image and it took 2 minutes and 28 seconds.

So why will the 8400 x 6600 PX give me so mush trouble and not render after 12 hours and not even show the Progress Windwo to let me know what is going on.

Yes the 8400 x 6600 PX images had given me problem before and the often did render but not always. But if I recall correctly the Progress Window always came up and FF then would freeze.

That's strange a 4200x3225 image renders pretty quickly for you but a 8400x6600 one fails. Please free up as much memory as you can: reboot the computer and start FF in the standalone mode before running any other program.

Also, you can try the 64-bit beta version.
