When checking "Inclined", the size of the checkers change.
I know it is easy to solve applying a Scale, but I don't see any reason why the size of the Checker should change.

I think the reason is that the centers all stay the same, and that an inclined square has a larger "radius" to reach to the other ones? Because the position grid isn't changed. It's weird I know but hopefully that helps explain it

Thanks Betis.

Yes, I understand what you say. But Inclined is not a resizing command. It should not work like that.

The grid stays the same. True.
But should it really stay the same? Didn't we check "Incline"? The grid should incline too or it should allow that the pattern simply inclines without resizing or deforming it.

What if also Free Polygon worked the same way? If we rotate it, the size changes to allow the grid to stay the same. Would it be good? I don't think so.

The "incline" on checkers seamlessly tiles (in a square image) because it is resized. If you were to keep the scale the same, it wouldn't seamlessly tile.
Free Polygon is a non-seamless component. No need to resize it, then.

Yes, it is surely right if we want a seamless image.
But that case is completely different.
If seamless is not checked, it would be still more correct to keep the size of the checkers instead of the seamless shape.
It is what is normally done in all other seamless components.
Look at Stones, Cells, etc.
They have a non-seamless shape when seamless is not checked. They can be used on any image shape without any problem. Then, if you check Seamless, they change.
This doesn't happen with Checker.
