It seems like my version 3.006 can no longer download filters from the library. Is there something about older versions of FF that prohibits users from downloading filter files from the website?

Yes, you can´t download any filter because you need to update to 3.007. You can do it by going to tools---> update
Please look at this thread for more help Do not need to download 3.07 from website, let FF download it itself!! http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...MID=100405 |

So all those people who have older versions, say, 2.008, also have to pony up for the upgrade or not be able to download any more filters?

NO you are not forced to upgrade,if you have FF 2.0, you only need to download and update to the latest version available of FF 2.0 to be able to continue downloading filters that are compatible with 2.0. You can update your FF 2.0 going to tools ---> update If I am not wrong, I think that the latest version of FF 2.0 was 2.012 (not the year, the version 2.12) |

Ok. That's nice. So there are filters that are compatible with 2.0 but those same filter are not compatible with 3.0. So why is the upgrade to 3.007 required to download more filters from the library. 3.006 is within the same compatibility series isn't it?

Think of it as an anti piracy feature.
If you have a pirated copy of FF3, you can't let it connect to the internet for an update, because it will be detected as a pirated software. If you can't update, you can't load filters. If you can't load filters, it's useless ![]() It's kinda like Windows7 anti pirate protection that won't let you update your windows or sownload silverlight and other MS products if you have an illegal copy of windows. |

![]() ![]() ALL 2.0 filters are compatible 100% with 3.0, is the inverse that is does not work, I mean that you can´t use 3.0 filters on 2.0. |

If you bought and have a 3.006 version, Filter Forge will update to the new version. It takes only few minutes and you don't have to pay other money. After that, you will be able to download and use any filter in the library ( no matter it is for the 3.0, 2.0 or any previous version ). If you have a 3.006 pirated version, anything you do, you will not be able to download other filters except if you buy Filter Forge. |

My upgrade seemed to fail about 3 times yesterday. You mean there's a pirated version? Hard to believe.
I do have a sufficient number of filters. This does seem like weird behavior not being able to download more filters because of such a small version change. It is only an incremental upgrade. Why do they do this? If You can't make it, fake it! |

I suspect that many people were trying it yesterday..So it could have been an error on the server...Try it again...I updated today and it was fine...
