You can't upload a filter that uses external images because of the possibility someone will use copyrighted images to the library, and that's a legal swamp nobody wants to go to.
If you want to upload your filter, simply change the images in the presets to the smaple images included with FilterForge. To do that, click File > Built-in preview images And select the lifesaver, or any other of the images in the list. Then you need to either remove all presets and remake some, or better yet, double click each preset, load the built in preview image, right click the prest and selct Update Preset. |

Is curious that in the Filter Submission Guidelines there is nothing about that you ONLY can submit filters with the built-in images previews and CAN´T use any external images.
It´s not only the copyright problem. I think that there is a bigger and more important problem, and is that the filters are small XML files, that take a very few Kbytes, so if external images was allowed it would rise MUCH the size of the file this filter would carry and it would need also a way for FF to manage this. And the alternative would be to store the external images in the FF server, but this would be also a problem, because obviously to use it you will need to download them through FF and a way to manage them. AND you have to take also in consideration the SIZE RESOLUTION, because the built in images are small 600x600, and you would not like to submit external images at this low resolution, and it would be bigger and then it would take much space and would enlarge much the FF server. AND also the FF team that review the filter to make the approval would take perhaps more time to review it with the external images THERE IS A WAY TO MAKE AVAILABLE A FILTER WITH EXTERNAL IMAGES I do not know if this would be allowed by FF, but I think that there is a way that you could upload the filter to the forum as an attached file, and then ALSO upload the external images that you are using with your filter (only if they are your own and created by yourself to avoid the copyright problem) also to the forum thinking that it has 500kb size limit for each file. |

lissame73, you can submit a filter with default images and put links to external images in the filter info.

You can also use a color control (In FF3) that uses an external image. The link to the image is saved, you just need to upload it to the forum so others can add it back into the filter.
Again, do so only with your own images, not copywrited work, to avoid lawsuits. |

Would this really work ? ![]() BUT isn´t this saved with USER own path to the image and then when it arrives to your computer it would NOT have the same path the external source image as in the original computer. |

Yes, the path that is saved is the authour's path. There are ways around it, but an easier fix is to have the user edit the path inside the editor. That would void any usage statistics, but you can't win them all.
