Hi,

I`m to FF and I`m checking out this software for creating 3D games. I`ve searched the forum and filters but I have not found any information on filters larger than 600p. Where can I get filters for FF3 that are larger than this size? Do I have to made them by myself, if yes then can anyone can tell me how to or give a link to tutorial explaining how to do this?smile:)

Regards.

Every filter can be used with any size.
The 600x600 pixel is just the default when you start FF.
To make a filter work on a larger size, simply go to:
File > New Image

In the dialog you can set the size you want. The filter will automaticaly start rendering at the new size.

I probably know what happens, if you are new to Filter Forge, you have to know that ALWAYS FF previews all the filters at 600x600 pixels, this is called "reduced view" AND also that the default built-in images are made at this size too, so you will not get any note about this "reduced view"

You can change the size as Morgantao have said very well, specially the filters that are self generated by FF and does not depend on an external source.

Also you can change the size simply by LOADING a source photo that have the size you want, I mean if you load a 3000 x 2000 filter this will be the final size that will be rendered.

You can´t change this second option with new image, because it would onvolve interpolation and this is not included in FF but there are many plugins available for photoshop that do it.

IF YOU LOAD A IMAGE SOURCE OR CHOOSE A HIGHER SIZE IN NEW IMAGE YOU WILL GET THIS MESSAGE SHOW HERE BELOW

And as the message says, you can go there to CHANGE the preview size to see it bigger than 600x600, BUT be aware that then FF will probably be much slower (depending of course the kind of filter you have choosen) as it will need to make a bigger result, and sometimes on slow filters it will keep all blank for a few minutes until you see something appear.

WHAT YOU SEE IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL GET

ALSO although you see in the preview the reduced 600x600 preview this IS NOT really what is important, the real result you will get depends totally on the resolution that is configured.

So you can keep previewing in reduced size at 600x600 a photo that is really for example 3000x2000, and DO NOT need to view it at actual size to be able to render the result at the real resolution that is configured. I mean that if you are in the reduced view, you can go to "SAVE AS" and the result will be done at the 3000x2000 resolution and NOT at the 600x600 you are viewing.

Yeah, I totaly forgot about the reduced view smile:D
I have it set in the options not to reduce my view, so it allways renders at 100% size.
Thanks SpaceRay for adding this smile:)
