It was only yesterday when I finally found out about the batch script function available in FF, so I generated a batch procedure for a filter in which I've saved approx 650 presets as I've worked with it. Creating the batch procedure for 650 presets took about 10 minutes, and the batch has been running since last night.

However, I've noticed that TGA files, when generated from the FF app itself, are consistently 768KB... When saved via the batch process, they vary in size, and are all much smaller than the 768KB output from the main app (100-200KB on avg).

Is this normal? Visual comparison shows the output to be identical, or at least I can't tell any difference.. so why the variation in file size?

Well, when you gets the tga save window, it asks you if you want 32bit or 24bit, so maybe you are picking 32 bit in the app, but the batch is using 24 bit.
Release the Mongoose!

Umm, no.. 24-bit TGA generated in the app is *always* 768KB and 32-bit TGA generated in the app is *always* 1024KB. (These are all being generated at 512x512 pixels. I should have included that in the first post.)

TGAs generated via the batch script are much smaller file size.

Well, I think I figured out the cause of this problem.. It's because TGA files being generated with the batch script are not actually TGA files. They are JPG files with a TGA extension.

These files, with a TGA extension, will not open in Photoshop CS5. I get the following error:

"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file"

If I rename the extension to JPG, Photoshop opens them just fine. So apparently the batch script, which I've instructed to save TGA format, is actually saving JPG format and naming them TGA.

What part of the script or config file should I be looking at to make sure my TGA output are actually TGA and not JPG?

Prime 3D, please make sure the format parameter in the Result tag is set to TGA:
