I have seen this news:
http://www.fastcompany.com/1714174/10...ercomputer
Is true that now we are counting, Dual Core, Quad Core, 6 cores, and in the near future 8 cores, and more far in the future 10 and 12, and they have developed alreay a 1000 cores cpu chip !!! As Filter Forge is a real CPU power hungry, I think that with a CPU of 1000 cores it would work in real time, and would not any problem with preview or speed rendering and would not need any kind of GPU acceleration as it would get the speed from the CPU raw power. What would you do with a 1000 cores computer and Filter Forge ? ![]() WOW you could make lots of textures and photo effects in no time and get an excellent fast workflow and could try many filters and have all previewed and rendered in real time and so you would not need to wait to see the results, and best of all you could make much larger textures, of 12000x12000 ![]() It would be a real dream to have the possibility to make lots of tests with different filters and enjoy seeing the results in real time without having to wait nothing. And of course, I think that it would be also much better to create the filters, as you have to try many times the effect until you get the result that you want. Although the problem would be that I think that this 1000 core chip will be probably a little more expensive than a Intel Extra Extreme CPU ![]() And if you think 1000 cores is probably not enough, what about 68000 cores computer ? ![]() Japan have now the fastest computer on the planet that have 68000 cores with a combined processing punch 8.2 quadrillion calculations per second (8.2 petaflops) !!!! That's a lot of calculations—about the equivalent of a million standard desktop PCs Although this computer would be VERY expensive to mantain and work with as it say that it needs enough electricity power to power 10,000 houses at once !! http://gizmodo.com/5813555/japan-clai...-the-world |

I hear the laptop version will be powered by a quantum singularity nilspace battery. The only drawback for those is when they overheat, the containment field collapses and the planet gets sucked into the resulting black hole... but the one with the red case and 20 inch holographic screen is worth it.
