I thought the 60% off sale was still on today ( July 1).... ? Now it is only 50% off... I just went to buy the standard version and now it is only 50% off.
Got the money for 60%, not 50%... did I just imagine it was "2 days left" yesterday or was I abducted by aliens again? This is the second time this is happened... maybe for both. Wasn't there another day left? Either way it's a moot point I guess... Maybe next version. But thanks in advance for any confirmation or denial of my sanity... |

I do not remember right really, but I think that the "days left sign" was right and on the 30th June was showing "last day left" or "1 day left", do not remember, so please do not give this as a truth, and really could be as you say, not sure.
Perhaps you have missed it because you are living in another part of the world far away fr om FF headquarters, wh ere because of the change of time and hours it would seem that it was available until July 1, but really was only until 30. This have happened to me with some USA online shops. the 50% discount is not ONLY available in this website as it is also available in many other websites I have seen, but I have not seen anywhere else the 60%. |

I'm not sure what you mean by that... I was asking that in a really light hearted way... hence the alien abduction reference... I was very busy here and I only checked FF site once on the 30th... I left thinking "Good, I can still get it tomorrow, if I get paid on time"... Just to be clear, I wasn't accusing anyone of cheating or anything... I was just asking if it was MY mistake or not... If you say it was correct then I suppose I WAS WRONG... no worries. It is probably better off anyway, since I would miss the progressive preview feature of FF3. I will save the money for FF3 when and if it comes on sale and hopefully I won't miss it then.
I just want to add one other thing... Filter Forge is a GREAT TOOL, if I had the money I would buy the professional version without a second thought... I just have NO disposable income. |

I did not want to say anything negative to you by any mean, I say that like you I was also very busy that day, and do not remember what happened, BUT you are lucky (in some way) that I have just seen a window tab I had in the browser from the 30 of June in Filter Forge website and was put "1 day left", so I can understand that this could be confusing, and perhaps is possible to think that if there is "1 day left" means that probably "tomorrow" is that "day left" as it is not including the day that you are really are on, and so this is an easy error to fall into, and you do not need to be abducted by time stopping aliens for this to happen
![]() I think that probably to avoid any kind of mistake and any possible misunderstood errors,Filter Forge could better put instead of "1 day left", replace it with "Last day" of even better "Today is the last day" I am sorry and regret that you can´t afford to buy the Filter Forge because as you say very well is a GREAT TOOL, and it keeps getting bettera and better. I am not rich in any way, but could save enough money to buy the FF 1.0 professional with a special discount and then upgraded to FF2.0 with a special pre-order discouunt. If you decide to buy the FF 3 when is released I think that you would need to wait probably until September or October 2011. If you change your mind and decide to buy now, you could contact the sales customer service directly and explain them your error and that you missed the sale of 60% by one day, and perhaps they could help you. Also probably the FF 3.0 could rise in price and NOT cost the same as FF 2.0, it has already happened with FF 2.0 vs FF 1.0. The upgrade from FF2.0 to FF3.0 would be also discounted if made a pre-order. |

I forgot to say that when I wrote this
It means that the offers discounts in the store are available with the USA local time at Alexandria, Virginia where the Filter Forge company is located and have the EASTER TIME ZONE as shown here http://www.timetemperature.com/tzva/alexandria.shtml So if you are living like me in Europe, there is a 6 seven hours difference and it happened to me that I missed some last minute sales because I arrived late because of change of time |

You made a very valid point there, I probably saw it say "one day left" and thought that meant the next day as the last day. I'm in the same time zone as Filter Forge, so I don't think it is a time zone issue. I'll keep checking back here to see when FF3 becomes available for sale or if they have a discount for pre-order. I can wait until it becomes available... I make all my textures using photoshop. Either by using photos I've taken or by faking it using layers and effects to make pseudo procedural effects. The textures I make are used to detail my free CGI models that I post on ShareCG. They are mostly large fantasy architectural sets in Poser format, so being that the materials are mostly stone and metals (nothing too hard to create using traditional photoshop techniques) I can get by till then. I've been OBSESSED with making a good large seamless poured concrete wall texture, one that is not too dirty and not to clean (medium weathering)... something you might see in a parking garage or similar structure, the other obsession is making a GOOD looking copper patina... I've taken so many photos of copper or tarnished bronze, but something like FilterForge is really the only way to do those materials justice. When I do eventually buy Filter Forge and figure out the proper way to make textures, my first filters are going to be those two materials.
By the way not to sound creepy or nothing, are you the same SpaceRay that sometimes posts at DAZ 3D? It is a unique name and I just happened to read a post there by someone by the same screen name... just wondering. |

Hi I have had similar problems, I have been trying to buy filter forge for the past 2 weeks at the 60% off ($159 ), But when i get through to the payment screen i get prices in GBPounds and additional costs for add ons filter CD not entirely sure what it is but i only want FF. the total cost comes to around 200 pounds! not the advertised ($159), to compound the frustration i now notice that its only 50% off.
Another question, I have been using FF3 beta, will i be buying FF3 or 2 ? and if the purchase is filter forge 2 will the upgrade to FF3 be free ? I'm new to filter forge and just wondered if this pricing strategy was normal for this product as its starting to frustrate me a little already. It seems a wonderful product but due to my initial frustrations I'm starting to think i may be better to steer clear... Any help/advice would be most appreciated Many thanks for your help. Kev. |

Well, i just bought on July 30th the program at i guess 50% off, just got the disc, and looked at the website and it is 60% off, before i even opened the case. I think it is pretty poor treatment of customers to change the discount constantly. i feel cheated. it is an expensive program, and the $50 makes a big difference. I guess if i had been watching the site for a month or two i would have figured their marketing practices out and bought at another time. very frustrated.

Idem for me, but in April, for the Standard Edition with 50% off.
I would like to upgrade to the Pro Edition. But if I upgrade, this will not give me a 60% off. Why new customers have a 60% when we (those who get already a version) cannot have the same treatment ? The upgrade cost : 150.$ So, 150. + 124. = 274.$. People will buy the Pro Edition just for 159.$ We should get a 60% too. I will stay with my Standard Edition. visit https://gisoft.ca |

I have checked now and is true, the 60% discount is NOW ALSO AVAILABLE FOR UPGRADES !! I have already bought before Filter FOrge 2.0 Professional so I can´t upgrade more than this but is really very good to oofer this very good discount to many others users than have bought another version and wants to upgrade to a higher version. Now is really the excellent opportunity to upgrade from 1.0 or 2.0 to the Professional version at the cheapest price ever seen. Thanks for helping FF users to upgrade and not ONLY offer the discount to new users. |
