Using psp photo pro x3 from corel I tried to attach the filter (shattered glass) to an layer. It would not do it. It was ok with just the image itself being a .jpg. But when you duplicate the background layer it does not work. Or add an layer it does not work. What I would like to do is have the image on the outside of the shattered glass The glass would then become the back ground layer.
thank you

works fine for me and i use psp x3. i tried it on both the background and a duplicate of the background. no trouble at all. are you calling FF from the 'effect > plugins' menu of psp? the .8bf file has to be located and the path set so that it will show up in the effects > plugins menu.

yes I cal it up from the effect plugins menu and like I said works fine when I open an image and than apply FF. When I duplicate or promote to background I get this error msg. (class XFW argument error) invalid plane count 0 (expected 3)
I have no idead what that is

hi robbi,
when you duplicate what? and not sure what you mean by promote here.

basically, you need an image open to call FF from psp. you can call it to a layer or to the original background. you can even call it to a blank layer if you're using a texture type filter. once you have your image open and your layer highlighted, just call FF and when it shows up, pick what you're going to use and then hit 'apply' in the FF interface. that will apply that filter and filter setting to the layer in psp.

you can also use FF as a stand-alone application without usuing psp.

i'm not sure what that error is. i dont recall seeing it before. are you trying to use FF in psp on a vector layer, by any chance? i've never tried that but i dont think it would work.
