Hi!

I have an old win xp sp3 32 bit media edition and new win 7 professional 64 bit. I want to move FF2 basic over to the new one and keep all

1) the filters I download from the site
2) the favorites
3) the presets on all filters

I have the FF2 installation disc and I have downloaded TONS of filters directly from the site and am not looking forward to taking hours/days/week to download them all again. Or finding my favs again amongst hundreds of filters. This is only my second computer, so I am not totally familiar with software transfers of any kind. Newbie language would be a relief for non-techie artists like me!

I think that a tutorial for this somewhere on the site with easy to understand step by step instructions would be great. I think that a lot of people will be moving over to win 7 or macs w/in the next year and a tutorial would be helpful and appreciated.

I am willing to help write a tutorial with a FF veteran after I have gone thru the process and transfered FF to make the way easier for others in the future.

All responses are appreciated smile:)

Hi,

That's not a complex issue to be worth a tutorial smile:) All Filter Forge filters, settings etc are stored in the "%appdata%\Filter Forge 2" folder.

Just install FF2 on the new machine and copy the "%appdata%\Filter Forge 2" folder from the old computer to the new one.
(Under Windows XP %appdata% usually points to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data; under Win7 it usually points to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\).

I just wanted to update- I think because I am using xp mode that my folder was in a slightly different location. Here is where I found it. I just replaced the old folder with the new one and it seems to have saved all my settings. smile:)

c:\Document and Settings\XPMUser\Application Data
