Hello Everyone,

I am running on a Mac. Is there an easy way to move my filters fr om V1 to V2? I know where they are stored, but cannot tell what's what by the filenames.

I am trying to avoid downloading them again if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Gary

As every downloaded filter is only represented by a name like Library-1234-1.ffxml, it is not a simple task, unless you like to open each file in TextWrangler or TextEdit and look for the tag name-en= in the text.
If you have spotlight searching on, you might use that, but why not just move everyone over to 2.0 and remove the unwanted instead?

uhm, all you have to do is copy and paste the filters from one version to the other. not sure of the folder names in mac, but shldnt be hard to find. on a pc you can have both version 1 and version 2 running on the same machine and all v1 filters loaded in v1 and v2. natually, v2 filters will only work in v2. not sure what totte's referring to.

If he only want to copy filters that he wants from V1 to V2, he needs to know which is which.

Simplest solution is just to start the terminal and type:
cp ~/Library/Application\ Support/Filter\ Forge/System/Library/* ~/Library/Application\ Support/Filter\ Forge\ 2/System/Library/*

from v1 to v2 you wouldnt need to know. from v2 to v1 you would need to know. or am i missing something here? on a pc, if you want to move or copy your filters from v1 to v2 you simply copy and paste them from the appropriate v1 folder to the appropriate v2 filter. in fact, i believe FF, inc. recommends copying the whole folder. but again, am i missing something here?

huh? ok, you're reading more into that than i see, but ok. so, you're saying he's wanting to be more selective about copying the v1's to v2 and only wants some of them?
