When I look at the filters on the website, the example images look smooth and anti-aliased, but when I run filter forge in Photoshop nearly all of the filters produce this awfully bitmapped and pixelized look. This happens even when the image is a high resolution size. Is there any way to solve this? I am a bit new to Filter Forge.

Sound like you have Anti-aliasing turned off.

To turn it back on:
click on FILTER (on bar at top between view and tools)
click Anti-Aliasing
click 5 samples (more is usually redundant)

See if that fixes it
