Why not retain the original date when a filter is submitted rather than using the update date, it would give you a better idea how long it has taken to gain the amount of downloads, it's real popularity [ still can't work out how the popularity page works out it doesn't quite may sense ]

The popularity ranking/listing is all fuxxored these days anyhow. It was always kind of a joke/fluke though, since you can opt out of sending usage stats etc. If they wanted to make it relevant, then there'd have to be a method that works for ALL users who download the filter, and that's about unpossible really, other than a simple one-point per download method which is pretty weak but would at least seem "democratic" in that way. And I always wondered = if you can't find out how close your filter is to HU, then where's the motivation to update it.
