There is an option when installing to transfer, either reinstall using the option or just copy the folder over to FF2 [ FF ui - Filter > locate file, to easily find the folder ] smile:)

Hello,

I found the FF v1 folder filters, i copy paste all the V1 filters in the FF v2 folder and i opened FF2.

It take long to open the software and i have the same amount of filters, so it's not working to copy the library over the new one.

Argg.

Thanks anyway.

Best Regards.

I am currently working with Beta Stage 4 after Beta Stage 3. When I installed Beta stage 4 (after having deleted Beta Stage 3 and worked with FF1 for a while) the automatic installation process of all my filters did not work anymore. I copied the folder from FF1 to FF2. All of my old filters (almost 1000) ended up in the "my filters" folder. After getting on the internet some folders were added and part of the old folders relocated to them. But several hundred just remained in "my filters" smile:| .

Before installing FF 2 pro I just wanted to make sure that the filter transfer works.

Please help: What exactly do I need to do in order to get my old filters from FF1 + my meanwhile downloaded filters from FF2 Beta stage 4 inside the correct folders of FF2 Pro when installing it? smile:?:

Correction: Some of my old filters (not folders) were relocated to the new folders intalled automatically via internet connection. But several hundred old filters just remained in "my filters", where it is hard to work with them + they drown "my real filters". smile:cry:

Addendum: Beta Stage 4 is outdated as of today it seems. So I'll have to install FF 2 pro soon anyway and would like to avoid filter chaos...
How to proceed from here? smile:deer:

Finally it's ok, After reboot my PC, and reopen FF v2, a message appeared and says me " category update ..."

But are missing my "favorite filters", sort of filter bookmarks.

But it works.

I just checked the Appdata folders for more clarity.
I have 76 files in "my filters" of FF1, 796 files in "my filters" FF2 (Beta 4).
There are 717 files in "library" of FF1, 809 files in "library" of FF2 (Beta 4).
Looking at it from there and considering that I have downloaded filters in the range of 100 to FF2 it seems like all filters have been first transferred to "my filters", then doubled to other folders, after I copied the Appdata contents of FF1 to FF2 Beta 4 manually.

Would this be practicable:
1. Uninstall FF2 Beta 4, which is not functional anymore.
2. Download FF2 pro and install it.
3. Copy everything from the Appdata Folder of FF2 Beta 4 to the new Appdata Folder of FF2 pro.
4. Open FF2 pro and delete all files from "my filters".
5. Copy all files from Appdata "my filters" of FF1 to Appdata "my filters" of FF2.

Or does one of the xml-files need to be changed for step 5?
Will there be any update of FF2 release soon, so that it might make sense to step back to FF1 for the moment and wait?
Please advise. smile:|

Ilmeni, I would recommend the following:

- backup your "Application Data\Filter Forge\System\Library", "Application Data\Filter Forge\My Filters" and the corresponding folders from your beta installation;

- remove the beta and install the release version of Filter Forge 2.0;

- copy the saved data to "Application Data\Filter Forge 2\System\Library" and "Application Data\Filter Forge 2\My Filters".

Thank you, GMM!

With your advice I proceeded to backup FF1 and FF2 Appdata Folders, uninstall FF2 Beta 4, Install FF2 release.
Fast and easy install, asked me whether I wanted to integrate filters from FF1, yes! Copied them swiftly. Great!
Entering license key worked fine.
Next I copied "my filters" from Appdate FF2 Beta 3 to the new "my filters".
Reopened FF2 -- thumbs appeared. Great!
Now I am testing download via (obsolete)library browser -- get the impression it is faster then before. Or am I just euphoric?

I am very happy and about to plounge to FF2 release!
Thank you very much for your help!
