Usage Ranking
My color cast removal filter has gone to a High Rating with 34 downloads ![]() http://www.filterforge.com/filters/384.html But other, more popular filters are still on Average Eg ByRo’s Sobel Edge Detection filter has 39 downloads but is still on average. http://www.filterforge.com/filters/316.html Both filters are in the same section ‘Misc’ I don’t understand? ![]() Ken. |

Actually, the Usage Rank isn't based on downloads: http://www.filterforge.com/more/rank.html But anyway, I do understand your reaction. I think the system should be completely redesigned (which is my current task). |

Thanks Vladimir.
I did read that link but I expected some correlation between download and usage. 34 downloads does not seem that high with over 2600 beta testers. Is that the real number? It would be much more useful if ‘downloads’ were replaced with ‘usage’. It really does need to be a meaningful number or we have no idea of how popular our filters are. Is there any chance of a search field on the web page? I know there is one within FF but I find it very slow to visit the ‘download more filters’ Ken. |

Yes, they do correlate. However, the main affecting factor is the exposure -- if a filter is displayed prominently, it will get downloads, and therefore usage. |
