With the CS4 64 bit release, many companies did not want to change and upgrade their plugins for the new photoshop, BUT now with the release of Photoshop CS5 things are changing fast and there a high interest and many people that choose 64 bit applications because are having more and more 64 bit OS and 64 bit applications

In 2010 many people who use PC with windows are now upgrading to Windows 64 bit instead of 32 bit and are having more ram, which did not happen so much before, and now is a great rising in 64 bit OS use, and specially since Photoshop is 64 bit native, and more over now with CS5.

I have seen that important companies for photoshop like OnOneSoftware, Nik Software and Alien Skin, are going to release in the comming months of 2010 upgraded 64 bit versions of their plug ins to be compatible with Photoshop CS5 64 bit.

I have seen this interesting article about 64 bit plugins for Photoshop CS5 wich shows the great rising of new 64 bit versions of the important plug ins as you can see here:

And here is the newsletter for Nik software photoshop CS5 compatibility in 64 bit

And this is from ononesoftware:

So my question is:

Filter Forge will be also upgraded in the near future (not for the release of FF2.0) to work with Photoshop CS5 64 bit in 64 bit mode as plugin or will only be able to use it in 32 bit compatibility mode standalone ?

I know that this is no way an easy task, and that needs lots of programming and that is why many companies did not want or be interested in updating their plugins before, but it seems that now in 2010 the 64-bit plug-ins are now arriving.

Will FF jump in the 64 bit plugin train ?

Perhaps for the standalone version is not needed and as it could work in 32 bit compatibility mde under 64 bit OS
