Hello,

I just purchased FF and register here.

I start, and i've a problem, i found some cool filters and i want to save an image to print, but the pixels size is 600 by default and i can't change it, even with edit filter menus.

I want to change it to a bigger size, (by the way i do not found any DPI menu to change) ?

I have the FF 1 pro.

Thanks a lot !

Best Regards.

In your FilterForge Application, under File-Menu (on Max OS X anyway), do New Image, and set the size.

I'm on wondows XP Pro x64.

The size of the image is based on that New Image setting, or the size of any image you open in the FilterForge application. Someone in Windows can probably give you some more hints.

FF do not care about DPI, but I think it is 65535x65535, but I've never rendered anything that large. I think 5kx5k is the biggest I've done, took forever with one of my own filters smile;-)

I wonder how big that would be in actual print? Billboard, backyard, hehe.
at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.

65535 pixels came up to be around 218in or so. Thats around 18ft give or take a couple of inches... smile:) But this is for 300dpi..
Heres a very very handy tool for pixels to inches calculations..

Hello,

I tried to do a poster using the cubism filter and one of my image, i put the AA on maximum and the image source is 1025 x something, and i don't arrive to finish the rendering, the progress bar is blocked and finally i click cancel after a long time.

Usually i have a quadcore processor intel 4, and with other software i have no problem even with 32 bits app, i'm on Windows XP Pro x64 edition, FF 1 use Multiprocessor work ? I don't know.

Maybe on FF 2 then.

Thanks a lot.
Have nice day everybody !!

It depends on what version of FF you have. The reason I went for FF1 Pro was the multicore support, having 16 cores, I just felt sorry for the ones left out spin in idle...

I have FF 1 Pro, but when i open the processus task windows (ctrl alt del) it say FF1pro x86 ...and 32bits app, so it is possible to download a x64 installer or something like that ?

Thanks again.

Please open Tools > Options > Rendering and make sure the Multithreading parameter is set to Use all available CPUs/cores.

Multiprocessor options was clicked by default.

I think i need to put less Atialissing Or let my comp more longer.

It depends of the filters and the variations.
