Connection to Server Timeouts

This cropped up recently. Running Windows XP with registered pro version of Filter Forge 1.019. I've tried turning the firewall off, all my other internet connections work fine. I get the timeout both checking for updates and for trying to download filters. Any help on getting to the bottom of this appreciated.
