How does one do this? I have the trial version (for now) 1.018. It seems I cannot get rid of the life buoy in the back OR when it "appears" the filter will make a transparency in the background. I am using Photo Shop versions 7 and CS3. Hope it is something simple and this CAN be done.

In FF-application, just create a "New Image" and set the background color transparent, someone with PS have to answer for PS

However, when I go to "New Image" there is only a "Fill color" option. Which is a color...not a transparency. Nice when I am using the "Evergreen" filter and I pick red as a "Fill color". BUT I would like to have that Evergreen as just the tree. True wisdom knows it knows nothing. |

Click on the fill color to bring up the ColorPicker and set Opacity to 0%

GOT IT!!! Thanks Totte.
It was the "A" gauge at the bottom of the Color Picker. Also, when saving image had to pick "Include Transparency". Comes up as a nice png file in my paint programs...NO background. Excellent. True wisdom knows it knows nothing. |

you can force the transparencies to show in an FF filter render by making the filter an 'effect' filter type instead of a texture. you do this by including an external image component within the filter. it doesnt have to be functional in your workflow but it has to be connected. i normally just connect it to a switch component but not active (no control to switch it). here's an example filter of that: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/2594.html
