How about Windows? And another one for doors?

Hey: I was thinking something similar. The new FF2.0 tools (bombers and polygon components) will really help a lot, so I've been kind of hanging back.

Bombers will be good for bolts and hinges, etc. in particular.

I was thinking that a basic framework could be to make the basic shape of the window (square, ogee, etc.) and then using tone curve to give shape to the trim. (Maybe I'll do an example to demonstrate)

Btw: have you seen the windows and doors by that other company (Geneti-something). They have a little 'medieval architecture pack' which is good for ideas. I think they use a lot of vectors to make them.

It's extremely robust - you can feed it just about any basic shape, and it will trace a window out of it.

Anyway, it's a good basic framework for making lots of window types. There is a lot of room for improvement & remixing, but all the parts are pretty accessible.
This will also work much better with polygon shapes. It's just tricky making all the parts from curves, etc.

I'm also trying something new w/ materials... we'll see how it works.

Hi Kraellin,

I'm going to kick the tires a bit more, and then I'll Submit it. I'd like this to be the basis for people to make lots of FF windows. (I'm thinking of it almost as a snippet.)

So, to that end I'm trying to figure out a better, more user friendly way to deal with the materials. A lot of filters wind up getting really complicated when they get to the part of making all the various materials... so I'm working out a way based on mapping all the colors to Red Green and Blue colors, and then using splitting out the channels to make all the maps. (I think it will work smile:?: )
