I have an old computer still running Windows '98 SE. I cannot update Windows because it doesn't work well.
Filter Forge should not run on it. I didn't try, so I have no idea of what would happen.
Is there any way to make Filter Forge works in Windows '98 SE?
Maybe no. Ha! Ha!
Well, it's just a question.

Welcome to FF Ramlyn...Darn now you gave me a reason to load VirtualPC and use 98se on it...
Just for the sake of curosity..
The question is thou...Is the computer enough as far as memory and cpu power to handle
Filter Forge as well....I could try it in VirtualPC but it would not be the same since the computer that I am going to use it on handles FF as far as the memory and Cpu power... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times!

uhm, just download the demo and try it. since xp's file system can be either ntfs or fat32, i see no reason why win98se couldnt handle it. but, just go try it; it's not likely to blow up your machine if you do If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I've just tried. I have 3 old PC in my office and they runs Windows 98 SE, like yours. You cannot even open the file. The result is an error message "This program must be run on Windows NT".
It would be interesting if the program could run in older versions of Windows. Home users surely buys always new computers, 'cause they have to buy just one. Instead many companies use them until they really don't work anymore.
Mine is not a CG company, but we make some small logo for our products. It would be good if, maybe adding some other program, FF could run in our old PC too ( we've no problems of memory. The computers have almost 1 GB RAM )

Thanks for the welcome, CFandM.
My old computer has enough memory, I think ( especially because there is practically nothing installed on it. He! He! I still have it only because I would get nothing selling it )
Today I tried and, as Igor V. said, the only thing I got was Error : This program must be run on Windows NT.
Well, it is ok for me, because I have the other computer. But I admit that it may be a problem if the program is used in a company. Also where I work, we have some old computer ( I don't remember if they run Windows '98 or '98 SE ).

Last time I seen a machine with 98 I drove from Michigan to Ohio to fix a computer that had some serious issues as I was told....Turned out to be a corrupt zip disk stuck in the drive..haha.........

Ha! Ha! Ha!
I have no idea if there are many or not.
I think now you should mainly find XP and then Vista.
But if you come in Asia, you can still find them.

Igor V., I suggest you to abandon the idea to use FF in Windows '98. I don't think it can be worth for FF to develop something for a version of Windows that is disappearing.
If anybody knows a program that could be used before trying to install FF, maybe that could help. But I have no clues. Generally you can make a newer version of Windows running like an older version, but not the contrary.
