ever since the memory leak was fixed, i havent crashed once! that's a pretty big deal, given that i often crashed with FF more than once in a day. and just to add to that, i was working last night and computer resources were getting slim. i had paint shop pro open with work and my browser and FF. i was editing a filter in FF and i noticed things beginning to lag a bit. this is always an indicator for me that ram is full and i'm now running on the swap file for ram. and sure enough, the harddrive light was running its tail off. now, in the past, that would have been almost a certainty that FF would subsequently crash pretty soon. and, just to be on the safe side, i went ahead and saved the file i was working on. but instead of closing things out, i went ahead and kept working. when i finally saved and quit out of the editor, the refresh on the main gui was exceedingly slow and i just sat there watching expecting FF to fall on its face with one or more error messages popping up. lo and behold, the refresh finally finished and everything was fine! i was VERY pleasantly pleased and decided i shld post this up and say a very large thank you to vlad and crew. so, thanks, folks! much appreciated!
now, if we could just fix windows

If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
