just loaded FF and went to the library and got a new version alert. so, 1.014 is out and ready!

hmmm, cant find any upgrade notes, so no idea what was changed, added or deleted.

If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I think they just meant the "starter editions", which offhand, don't seem like a very good idea to me.

nope, it's a new version, 1.014. had to download and install or i couldnt use the library.

yup, seems you were partially right. this version makes the new mini-FF's possible, it would seem.

It's our first foray into the sub-$30 price range, so how well it will work remains to be seen. It may cannibalize Basic, or it may serve as a starting point for upgrades to Basic, it may sell like hot cakes or it may not sell at all. We'll see in a couple of months.

Fred, no preview/rendering speedups in this release, however, the previous update (1.013) did include considerable rendering speedups:

well, it shld be interesting, vlad. my first impression was that you're selling too low, but i had a closer look at the editions and it might be a good break-in means. i'd be interested in hearing how they are doing in a couple months. the other thing it does is undercut, i would think, any private filter sellers. i'm not even sure there are any private filter sellers, though, so that may be moot smile:)
