It's already goes through our internal testing. We're done with the budget editions (released literally minutes ago), so I'm switching to the Mac beta starting next monday (full-time, no distractions) and I'm going to pressure it until it's released.

between the beta and my pc crashing on me hard just last weekend, and having gone and looked at macs shortly thereafter (and pretty much drooling on the salesman), i'm SO tempted to get a mac smile:)

Wha... what's that in the distance?? An oasis?! ... just need to hold on a little longer...

Thanks for the update, Vlad.

Craig: No disrespect for PCs (having used both platforms professionally for 20+ years) but I wouldn't give up my Mac for anything.

hehe, i can see why, bluefrog. i was mostly impressed. the software was innovative, clean and fast...AND NO REGISTRY!!! the hardware was very good looking, though i didnt like the mouse and chicklets keyboard, but those can be swapped out with regular stuff. the usb port on the side of the keyboard was good, though. and the monitor tower is cool as hell. no tower; everything is in the monitor, including the harddrive and dvd rom. that's also a drawback due to not being able to do your own upgrades, however. but, you can add externals easily enough.

but it was the screen and software that was most impressive and with bootcamp built in, that just makes it better.

the main problems i have with mac are the closed hardware architecture, pricing and software support, plus having to get another copy of photoshop and paint shop pro for mac. sure, i could run them under bootcamp, but that's just not the same thing, since neither o/s will talk to the other through bootcamp.

but, i do like the built-in backup system, wireless to an external. that's very handy. why the pc hasnt done some of these basics long ago is a complete mystery to me.

Bluefrog, thank you! As for the topic, here's a hint: we're very actively looking for a way to automate the creation of .dmg files smile;)
