We have added support for CoolIris, a browser addon for browsing images (formerly PicLens). The CoolIris links are located on the web pages that display lists of filters, for example:

http://www.filterforge.com/filters/featured-page1.html
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/popular-page1.html
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/recent-page1.html

You can get the addon here:
http://www.cooliris.com/

now THAT'S what i'm talkin about! smile:) very cool, vladimir!

i found that i had to do one of two things to activate it, though, which seemed a bit different from most places i've used cooliris/piclens. i had to either click on your 'slide show' or i had to click on one of the filters and go to that page and then go back in the browser to the original page. i'm not sure if that was intended to work like that or what. most places i've used this, i simply get the cooliris icon automatically show up in the thumbs after a short wait for the caches to load up and so on.

but regardless, this is very cool! one of the best ways to view large numbers of pictures ever done. thanks, vladimir smile:)

It does -- at least for the links I posted above (provided that CoolIris is installed).

Even works with Opera?! Excellent!

Questions:
[1] Previews are zoomed on my monitor. Is it possible to save original size?
[2] Is it possible to make slideshow on full screen and make as slides the seamless tiled previews?

Filter search results and Categorized filters are also "PicLensed".
Space... it seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

1. I'm not sure.

2. Fullscreen -- yes, it's possible (you have to install the addon). Seamless tiling is not supported.

also, vladimir, very cool way to get extra advertising by installing this on the site. cooliris is liable to add you as one of the subscribers/users listed on their web site.

and, for some reason, it's not working for me now in the categories of 'recent' and 'popular' where it was working there this morning. it works in another location, but not there now.

ok, something goofy going on here... when i click the link vlad provided that takes you to 'featured filters' it works fine. when i go from the home page of filterforge.com to 'featured filters' it doesnt work. what's up with that?

and to answer someone's question, just double click on any image in piclens and it will zoom into that pic and offer you a slide show interface down below that you can use to show the rest of the images on 'the wall'.

oh, and piclens also works on youtube for videos and yes, with sound included, google images, photobucket and several other very popular image sites. google image searches alone make this an invaluable browser add-on.

and if you wish to save an image, hit the little blue icon of an arrow on a sphere with a grid and this will temporarily close piclens and take you to the exact, actual page the image is on and you can then 'save image' just like you normally would.

Probably it's because you get to http://www.filterforge.com/filters/, not to http://www.filterforge.com/filters/featured-page1.html ?

that must have been it, gmm. not real sure. but why dont you have this on the first pages there. i mean cooliris. why not just incorporate it for all those pages with multiple thumbs, like the main page?

"All filters by XXXXX" pages have just been PicLensed too.

For example: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/au...page1.html

thank you, ZZ! that is absolutely the best way to view these. doing my own i suddenly realized a couple that i need to change and that i'm actually fairly good at this stuff smile:)

i highly recommend all authors do the full slide show on all your own filters. you really will see what's good and what's not so good smile;)

Yeah, it looks good.....but the combo of PicLens, FF, and IE7 was seizing up my machine..... smile:evil:

I couldn't figure out what was causing it.....then I found in Task Manager that all three programs were at war with each other in the background without any of the programs being open.....not good!!! smile:?:

This is what happened after I installed PicLens.....

Okay, here's the play by play.....

IE7 was the only program running.....downloaded and installed PicLens.....tested it out on the web and worked fine.....went to FF and worked fine.....closed browser.....opened FF and the editor cursor was stuck on grab (hand pointer) so I couldn't work on filters.....in trying to open other programs, they would come up for a second then close on their own, then stay open on the second attempt to open them.....FF wouldn't allow me to connect to their website, but I could get there if I opened the browser separately from FF.....then my comuter started to completely seize up, thus forcing hard shutdowns.....the task manager showed that IE, FF, and PicLens Active X programs were all fluxuating to max out CPU usage without the programs being open.....
