Considering the last official news item on the topic, I'd say celebrations are in order when we reach the 8000th filter milestone.

has anyone wondered if version 1.xx filters are going to be compatible with version 2.xxx program? it raises some interesting questions.

Yeah, Vlad stated that V1 filters would be compatable in V2.....can't remember where it was though.....

@Crapadilla: in addition to distributing the press release and publishing the news on our homepage, we used to send it to all registered users. However, mass mailing (though fully legitimate) brought us to trouble -- we just missed being included into black lists of certain email providers. That's why we decided to hold off the news for some time.
