has anyone wondered if version 1.xx filters are going to be compatible with version 2.xxx program? it raises some interesting questions.

@Crapadilla: in addition to distributing the press release and publishing the news on our homepage, we used to send it to all registered users. However, mass mailing (though fully legitimate) brought us to trouble -- we just missed being included into black lists of certain email providers. That's why we decided to hold off the news for some time.
