I'm not in Windows a whole lot (I run it under emulation when I have to) but whenever I am I fire up FF and check for updates to the app itself, then to the filters. And each time I wonder, isn't this model a bit stressful on Filter Forge's servers? Most apps are downloaded only when there is an update (every few weeks or months, depending on whether it is shareware or commercial), but with FF, you can download stuff continually!
This is not a complaint by any means, but more a concern. As FF's popularity grows, so will the strain. Anyway, once I finish my current ezine I plan to start the next and feature FF on the cover and in a tutorial inside, since it is just so cool! The other day I spent a couple of hours running a photo I took of a tiger in Vegas through many filters, with the results running the gamut – far wider than you'd get from any other plug-in. So thanks again to those of you creating and sharing this great stuff! Let me put out the call once again for submissions for Featured Artists using FF (ideally, refer me to your work on the web). I still have a few examples from last call, but even more would be good. Those whose work is chosen for publication (no cost/no pay) will get a brief bio and URL included.
