Just wondering if FF will support a 64 bit operating system? I have Windows XP 64bit on its way, so I will find out in time anyways, but I'm just wondering if i can upgrade all of my computers to 64 bit?

Thanks for the help smile:)

Yes, we considering a 64-bit port for Windows (not for Mac OS X), but we can't say how long it will take to develop.

Also I would like to note that the currently available 32-bit version runs nicely on Vista x64 smile:D
While moving to native 64-bit version will bring some performance improvements, there is nothing dramatic.

P.S. There is a working internal 64-bit build that works about 5% faster than 32-bit one. I don't think this performance improvement justifies the need for 64-bit build before 2.0.

Is there any news on the 64bit release?

I'm not worried about speed - but the ability to handle larger file sizes, and to access all my memory.

No news yet. As for the large files, FF can handle them perfectly well as it is -- at least if they don't exceed 65000x65000 pixels. You might want to set the memory consumption slider in Tools > Options > Rendering to the maximum, but that's not necessary -- it will work fine on default settings.

A 64bit build would be nice, but I can wait for v2 if I have to.
