Can you save downloaded Filters

Hiya there

I've been trying FF for a few days, and I love it the quality of the filters is staggering. I have two areas of concer however and i wonder if there is a solution..

1) Some filters seem to take an age to render, despite having a very powerful quad processor and hefty graphics card, others seem to render in a few seconds, I suppose this must be the complexity of the filter.. but is there a way to spped this up.

2) While the online collection is staggering in both depth and quality, there seems to be only the option to ''open in FF'' now this is great, untill of course you HD fails (God forbid) and you are faced with the daunting task of re-downloading all the filters. Is there a way to store/back up all downloaded filters ? so that should a disaster take place and a re-install is needed you wont have to go hunting down all the filters again.

If i save that folder to another location, upon re-install can i simply just put them back in ??

Kraellin is quite correct. I'd only like to add that yes, if you have a lot of disk space for backup, it's better to backup the whole "System" folder -- apart from the filters, it also contains cache, thumbnails and some other files. It's not really necessary to backup these but it can save you time later -- you will not have to render them anew.

The path for the library filters is:

%APPDATA%\Filter Forge\System\Library
(by default it is C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Filter Forge\System\Library)

The path for your own filters is:

%APPDATA%\Filter Forge\My Filters
(by default it is C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Filter Forge\My Filters).

I have set up a backup of the whole 'Filter Forge'' folder into my backup program. and also have set the folder it save to by default when downloading from website on a different volume (via shortcut method)
