i was watching this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX3VmDgiFnY on youtube yesterday, and kept thinking of FF while i was. i dont know that it would be possible, but i kept thinking that would make for an interesting component. and, for all i know, maybe it's already in FF. but i just thought i'd pass it on to the geniuses at FF, or for anyone else's interest.

Ah, this could be acheived by FF creating a 3-D environment and allowing user-defined math equations.....which I've mentioned probably a kazillion times since I've come here.....but has been shot down every time because FF doesn't want to get into it with all the other 3D programs out there. I for one would certainly love to see FF expand in these directions.....put it all under one roof.....and compete with the other 3D programs smile;) smile:)

well, i have no idea how or if something could be used from this, 3d or otherwise, but when i saw that video i thought of FF and thought it would make a cool alternative to kaleidoscopes.

the general outlines of it caught my attention when the square grid was being shaped into 3D forms.....

Dang, I'd kill for a FF style Plug-in for 3d Studio Max or similar application. It would make procedural textures so much more user friendly in Max.

so, that was a fractal thing? hmmm, that's not what i've generally thought of as fractal. but, math was not my strong suit in school.

I agree..... I think it would be a great idea for FF to expand into 3D.....

That looks like an inversion. I have some fancy versions here (although my version continues infinitely in the center)...
